Cookies are small pieces of data stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session identifiers. They can remember a session, protect a request, or help a service operate consistently.

• Authentication: Clerk uses session technologies to sign you in, keep the session secure, and connect requests to your account.
• Security: request and session information helps prevent unauthorized access, abuse, and duplicate activity.
• Preferences: limited browser storage may remember choices needed to provide a requested interface.
• Unfinished product setup: a first-party, secure cookie holds a random draft identifier for up to 30 days so you can continue an analysis in the same browser. The product details stay on our server, not in the cookie.
• Website-analysis measurement: a first-party cookie holds a random browser session ID for up to 30 days so we can count visits and understand whether a website analysis leads to signup and product setup. It does not contain your IP address or product details.

We also store first-party product and conversion analytics as server-side events. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral tracking.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics to understand page visits and traffic sources without analytics cookies. It uses a short-lived request-derived identifier for aggregate visitor statistics, rather than tracking you across websites. Query strings are removed from tracked page URLs, and admin and sign-in pages are excluded.

Founders may add BuildTraction's first-party traffic snippet to their own product website. It does not use cookies. It sends the page path, referrer, date, and a public product key so BuildTraction can report aggregate visits and power opt-in leaderboards.

Authentication and security cookies are needed for account features. The analysis-session cookie helps us understand the homepage funnel and connect a draft to your later signup. Blocking cookies may prevent an unfinished draft from carrying across visits and may limit funnel measurement. You can control cookies through your browser.

If we add advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking in the future, we will update this notice and provide consent choices where required before those technologies run.
